Blogs are started for a variety of reasons. This one was sparked by my overwhelming desire to
share to the world as much positive energy as I can. :)
Ever since I went onboard a social networking site, I realized just how powerful a few hundred characters can be. If you read something like '
I hate work, I'm having such a bad day' or '
You're such a b****' or any of those online word wars, you're bound to
feel the negativity seeping into you like a poison - yes, even if the message was not directed at you. And of course, the negative energy isn't just found on social networking sites, it's everywhere. The workplace, the grocery store, heck even places of worship have negative energy.
I must admit I'm fairly guilty of being infectiously negative sometimes, and I swear, it makes me feel so bad I immediately try to get myself together and get over the
nega funk. It's not always easy, anger, jealousy, hatred, envy, it can eat up any human being. It can swallow you whole - but only if you let it.
So don't.
What I do after I vent on social networking sites every once in a while, is remove that post, comments and all, so I don't 'pollute' my profile with negativity. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it also removes the post from everybody else's newsfeed. :)
And when faced with it in public places, like the grocery store or a fastfood (where hungry people tend to be impatient), I just either walk away or distract myself.
Don't get me wrong, getting irritated, angry, jealous, or envious are all but inevitable human reactions. Anyone of balanced character feels all of that at one time or another and airs it to the world. But what makes the difference is how you 'feed' those emotions. You can be angry for a couple of hours, but you don't have to be seething mad for one entire week.
Being positive and staying positive is definitely harder than jumping on the '
nega' wagon. But it is definitely more rewarding in the long run. So why not spread some positivity, and let it reverberate around you? :)
Let's take it from the great Winston Churchill: “For myself I am an optimist - it does not seem to be much use being anything else”
Pass on the positivity! :)
